Notes from James

WEEKLY LETTER
ISSUE #29 · Nov 1

Hey {{first_name}}

November First.

Hard to believe that there are only 2 months remaining in 2026.

At the same time, this has been the longest year of my life.

When you are in the same place, in the same routine for long periods of time, your brain starts to condense memories that are repetitive.

What makes drinking your morning coffee at the kitchen counter different on Day 72 from Day 335?

Nothing.

Your brain is so efficient that it will not keep every detail of your morning coffee experience, because of course, you will have the same experience the next day.

All of this to say, it makes sense that this has felt like the longest year of my life.

I have not stayed in the same location for more than 6 weeks at a time for the entire year.

I have traveled to the Philippines, Australia, Bali, Thailand, 25+ states in the US, and Mexico.

This has required me to stay outside of my comfort zone and routine, but travel is not the only way you can experience this.

All that is required is to try new things, to break your routines, and allow bring uncomfortable.

As we head into the winter time, a lot of people begin to focus on themselves more.

If you want to change yourself this winter, I highly recommend breaking your routines and trying new things.

If you want different results, you have to try different actions.

From James
This past week I flew back to Hawaii were I used to live!

When I started my posting streak 435 days ago, I was living in Hawaii.

It is a very special place to live or visit, and I am so happy to have returned once again.

I have enjoyed catching up with old friends, working out in my old gym, and eating food from my old favorite restaurants.

This is the second time that I visited Oahu since I left at the beginning of this year, but the first time I only visited for 3 days.

It has been really nice to spend more time here again.

To every person and place that make this island so special, thank you to infinity!

See you next week!

- James
