Notes from James

WEEKLY LETTER
ISSUE #20 · Aug 30

Hey {{first_name}}

The human mind cannot comprehend the size of our planet, never mind the vastness of our universe.

Each and every one of us lives in our own little bubble. Albeit some bubbles are larger than others, there’s still a bubble.

A layer of protection between what we do normally and everything else.

For most people their bubble includes friends, family, work, hobbies, routines, traditions, and other common collective activities.

Then there is another group of people: they question everything, avoid routine to a fault, and are always chasing the next adventure.

This is can be as exciting as jumping out of an airplane in a foreign country or as simple as driving a new route on the way home from work that adds a few minutes but at least you’ll see a new part of town.

The magnitude of the new experience lays in the hands of the decision maker. You.

These decisions collectively add up over time to determine the size of your bubble.

How big do you want your bubble to be?

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

How to Stop Overthinking
In this video I review my biggest takeaway from the book The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. I found this book to be absolutely brilliant, but nothing I learned was more important than Tolle’s thoughts about the mind, overthinking, and how to stop overthinking.

If you’re an over-thinker (like me), this is the one for you:

From James
This past week I prepared to get back on the road!

I have been “homeless” since January of this year. Bouncing around from new and familiar places.

For the past 2 months I have been visiting and living with family.

A welcome sense of comfortability in a year that has been anything but.

At the same time, my deep craving for wanting new experiences has been growing.

While being home was amazing for establishing a routine, being productive, and spending time with family, I am ready for the unpredictability of the road once again.

There’s nothing better than arriving someplace new and getting your bearings by going for a walk.

There’s always something exciting to find, weather it be a beach, a perfect little coffee shop, or a sense of the people who living in this new area.

Living on the road forces new experiences, and brings out the deepest part of yourself that wants to live life to the fullest.

See you next week!
